My inspiration for this blog came this past summer when I made a list of DIY projects I intended to complete. I spend so much time pinning these projects to my Pinterest Boards I might as well try them out, right?! That’s when I decided I would create a DIY blog…but I didn’t feel like that was enough. As much as I love DIY projects I really couldn’t see myself only blogging about DIY projects (I would go crazy and that would be boring). So, I looked at my list of DIY things I wanted to accomplish and how I could turn all of that into something more. I realized there were 30 items on the list and that doing one project a day seemed reasonable. That’s when I had the idea of turning the blog into “30 days of…”! SO, I had this exciting new plan, but then life got in the way and I put a hold on blogging.
Now, I’m not one for New Year’s resolutions, but as I welcome 2014 I realize it has the potential to be something great. With a few hours left of 2013, I sat down and crunched out a list of things I wanted to accomplish in the new year. Besides ‘read everyday’, ‘save more money’, ‘stay fit and healthy’, blah blah blah, I want to keep busy. I don’t mean “work 24/7” kind of busy, I mean really indulge in things that keep me thinking and active. I want to do things that are going to better my home, my husband, my family, my career and my future. I want to explore new hobbies, push my body to the limit and travel to new places. That’s when my little blogging idea came back to me.
My plan for this year and this blog is to pick topics, hobbies and projects and blog once a day for 30 days about each topic, hobby and/or project. My goal is that I accomplish things I have been meaning to accomplish for awhile now and hopefully inspire others to try certain things…like those DIY projects we all pin! When you think about it, 30 days is the perfect amount of time to invest in something. It’s long enough to feel like you’ve actually accomplished something, but short enough to not overwhelm or bore you. So, I’m going with it!
Disclaimer: I am not a writer, nor am I trying to be one. I simply have a lot of things I want to do and accomplish and thought it would be fun to share with friends, family and even strangers.
As I post blogs, feel free to share, comment, ask questions and/or pin things you find worthy! Thanks for coming along on this journey with me…I hope you find it entertaining, interesting and helpful!
